Welcome to the website of composer Steven Holochwost.

Steven John Holochwost (b. 1978) studied composition at Yale University, and then on fellowship at Rutgers University, earning his doctorate under the tutelage of Charles Wuorinen.

He has received grants, awards, and fellowships from the Sudler, Manzella, Richter, and Mellon Foundations, Rutgers and Princeton University, the Center for the Critical Analysis of Contemporary Culture, the National Association of Composers, the Fisher Foundation, and ASCAP.

His music has been performed throughout the United States, and will be available in the future on the Albany Records and ERM Media labels.

Holochwost is also active as a student and scholar of psychology, wherein he focuses on neuropsychological development in young children and its implications for public policy.

He has held position in the Office of the Child Advocate for the State of New Jersey and as Associate Director of Research and Assistant Professor of Psychology the University of Delaware's Early Learning Center. Currently he is a graduate research fellow of the National Science Foundation in the Department of Psychology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
